Abstract (EN)

In the first stage of this thesis study, acyl hydrazide compounds (1a-k) were prepared from carboxylic acid and ester starting materials. As a result of the reaction of these compounds with carbon disulfide in a basic environment, 5-aryl-1,3,4-oxadiazole-2-thion derivatives (2a-2k) were synthesized in good yield. The structures of the synthesized molecules were elucidated using spectroscopic techniques such as FT-IR, 1H-NMR and 13C APT-NMR. In the second stage of this study, the antimicrobial activities of these compounds were examined using the disk diffusion method. It has been determined that these substances show more effective activity on Gr (+) bacteria than on Gr (-) bacteria. Anticancer activity studies were performed using the SH-SY5Y neuroblastoma cell line. 2a and 2k molecules containing indole rings have been found to be effective in both antimicrobial and anticancer activity studies. Keywords: Oxadiazole, hydrazide, indole, antimicrobial, anticancer
