Abstract (EN)
In this descriptive study, it was aimed to determine the effect of nocturia on quality of life and depression in women over 40 years of age. The study was completed with 251 women over the age of 40 who applied to Ankara Çayyolu No. 1 FHC between 01.07.2021 and 01.09.2021. The data of the study were collected using the sociodemographic information form, the World Health Organization Quality of Life Scale (WHOQOL-BREF), and the Beck Depression Scale. Shaphiro-Wilk, Chi-Square, Mann Whitney U, Kruskal Wallis, Spearman correlation tests were used to analyze the data. The prevalence of nocturia in women participating in the study was determined as 60.6%. Except for the WHOQOL-BREF scale psychological health sub-dimension mean score for women's nocturia episode, all sub-dimension mean scores were found to be statistically significantly lower (p<0.05). Beck Depression Scale (BDI) mean scores in women with nocturia were found to be statistically significantly higher (p<0.05). As a result, it has been determined that nocturia affects the quality of life negatively and increases the risk of depression in women. Key Terms: Depression, Nurse, Woman, Nocturia, Quality of Life
