According to 5E model, effect of planed out-of class teaching activities on academic achievement and retention

In this study, the effect of lesson plans prepared according to 5E teaching model on students academic achievements and permanence of science courses has been studied for out of class environment.Our study was conducted with a total of 25 students (12 persons control and 13 persons experimental group). Our study was made by using ''Our World, The Moon and Source of Life, The Solar Unit Academic Achievement Test.There are 61.5% male and 38.5% female students in the experimental group. 66.7% of students in the control group and 76.9% in the experimental group are educated by using mobile teaching. The study was contucted according to the experimental model with the preliminary test and final test. In the experimental group, whille teaching activities prepared according to the 5E teaching model are used for out-of-class environtments. In the control group, courses were taken as indicated by the curriculum. The data of study was developed by the researcher was abtained by ''Our World, The Moon and Life Source, Solar Unit Academic Achievement Test''. The data of study was analyzed weet the Mann Whitiney U Test. The results of study showed that there was no significant difference between the experimental and the control groups according to the preliminary test results before the application started. After the application to the experimental group, bath groups increased their final test score significantly.
