Life, art and poems of Abdülhak Mihrünnisâ Hanım

This thesis was prepared to determine the biography Mihrünnisâ Hanım, the sister of Abdulhak Hâmid. Mihrünnisâ Hanım lived between 1864 to 1943. She published her first poems at the age of 18 and continued to write poetry periodically until her death. In the first part of the thesis Mihrünnisâ Hanım's life, art character are discussed in detail. In the study, managing her poetry and the topics affecting her poetry are covered. Some literary historians included her in the Ara Nesil staff, while others did not include her in any literary periodicals. As a result of comprehensive research, the Works of Mihrünnisâ Hanım were examined by considering the stucture, shape and content features of the Ara Nesil period and it was concluded that the poet reflects many features of the Ara Nesil period in her works. In the second part, Tanzimat intellectuals who are the pioneers in the modernization of Turkish poetry are briefly given and Mihrünnisâ Hanım's understanding of poetry is revealed through these poets. In the last part of the study, the poet; her poems, family genealogy and photographs are included.
