Abstract (EN)
Due to its geological, geomorphological, topographic, meteorological and seismological characteristics, Turkey is a country with a high potential to be exposed to disasters. Disaster sensitive planning approach is an approach that considers all kinds of hazards and all ground conditions and aims to prevent and/or reduce damage in disasters. Within the scope of this study, first of all, disaster and disaster management were discussed conceptually, spatial planning and disaster-sensitive planning approach were examined in terms of definition and scope, and in this context, the function of the use of geoscience data in planning in the assessment of suitability for settlement and construction was examined. Bursa province was examined as an example due to its disaster risk, location and geological, geomorphological and seismological features at the point of integration of geoscientific data into the spatial plan, and it was evaluated within the scope of disaster-sensitive planning in terms of disaster risk assessment, urban use and suitability for settlement.
