Analysis of the plan typologies of housings in Afyonkarahisar (1923-2021)

The types of housing plans have been constantly changed until today and are considered within the concept of typology. These changes include many features such as location, size, architectural feature. From the Republican period to the present, significant changes have occurred in the types of housing plans in the city of Afyonkarahisar. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the change of housing plan types in Afyonkarahisar city with the December period and to reveal the cause-effect relationship that forms the basis of the change. The evaluation of the housing plan type change in the historical process of the city of Afyonkarahisar, which has an important location, history and cultural values, according to the determined components is a determining factor in terms of the importance of the thesis. The study of the housing plan type change from the Republican period to the present and the systematic treatment of this change are included in the scope of the thesis. Content analysis method will be used to determination of the changes in the layout typologies of houses in Afyonkarahisar city by keeping the scope of the study limited. In this thesis study, technical information will be collected and analyzed. First of all, in the city of Afyonkarahisar, the houses that attract the most attention as a construction and that I find different and sufficent for each period will be identifed from thr neigborhoods where I will determine that the typology of the plan is going to be differentiated. Physical and tecnical information such as the type, shape, number of rooms, dimension of the specified houses and buildings will be obtained. The architectural scale development of the residences in the city of Afyonkarahisar will be examined in four different period. (1923-1950, 1850-1980, 1980-2000 and 2000-2021). A single dwelling built in Dumlupınar dec. between 1923 and 1950 will be examined. A total of three houses from this period, including one from the Dervişpaşa Neigborhood between 1950 and 1980, one from the Cumhuriyet Neigborhood and one from the Marulcu Neigborhood, will be examined dec. a total of three houses from the years 1980-2000, one from the Dumlupınar Neigborhood, one from the Dervişpaşa Neigborhood and one from the Güvenevler Neigborhood will be examined. A total of three houses, one each from the Erenle, Selçuklu and Güvenevler Neigborhoods, will be examined between 2000 and 2021, which ıt has determined as the last period. Secondly, the technical information obtained from these residences will be evaluated and converted into morphological tables. These tables will contain physical and technical information about the buildings (parcel information, building construction year, plan diagram). Thirdly, from the data included as a result of morphological analysis, a typological evaluation of the dwellings will be made, including technical data such as space organizations, dimensions, number of rooms, plan diagram.
