The problems of the professional managers in the family business enterprises

In Turkey, it is a paradox that although the family businesses wish to implement a professional approach, they do not work efficiently with the professional managers they employ. It is a fact that the family businesses that wish to become an institutional business do not utilize their professional managers' suggestions because they do not comply with their expectations. It is known that the professional managers in these businesses have to deal with not only the problems of businesses themselves but also the problems arising from family relations. This study aims at determining the problems of the professional managers in the family businesses in Afyon, classifying these problems, and suggesting solutions to these problems in order to provide an example for the problems the professional managers in Turkey. We have employed qualitative research techniques in the study.
