Abstract (EN)
This study aimed to evaluate the clinical and laboratory findings of children aged 0-18 years who were diagnosed with atopic dermatitis at the time of admission and during follow-up. In the study, the files of patients diagnosed with atopic dermatitis who applied to the Pediatric Allergy Immunology Outpatient Clinic of Akdeniz University Medical Faculty Hospital between October 2016 and October 2020 were evaluated retrospectively. The data were recorded in the IBM SPSS 24 (IBM, Armonk, NY, USA) program and statistical evaluation was made and p<0.05 was considered statistically significant. A total of 432 patients, 203 (46.8%) female and 231 (53.2%) male, were included in the study. According to the analyzes performed, 45.6% of the patients were very early-onset (≤2 year olds), 28.1% were early-onset (3-5 year olds), 21.9% were childhood (6-13 year olds), and 4.4 of them were in the adolescence (14-18 year olds) group. A total of 171 patients (39.7%) had a history of comorbid atopic disease. When the family history was examined, 123 patients (37.7%) had a family history of allergic disease in any individual. While the complaint of erytheme (79.1%) is more common in patients aged 6 years and younger, dry skin (79.6%), itching (63.3%) and lichenification (22.4%) are significantly more common in patients over 6 years of age ( p<0.001). According to the skin prick test results, the sensitivity of cow's milk, egg white and egg yolk was found to be significantly lower in patients aged 25-60 months compared to the other groups (p<0.05). The results of our study are similar to the results of studies conducted both in our country and in other countries. Key Words: atopic dermatitis, child, skin prick test
