Abstract (EN)

Clothes, which are one of the most basic needs of humanity, must be suitable for people's bodies and increase their living comfort. In the research, based on the interviews conducted with elderly consumers over the age of 65, it was concluded that they could not find the clothing pieces produced for them in the ready-made clothing industry in accordance with the temperature changes in their bodies, skin sensitivities, daily use comfort and lifestyles. Since simple actions such as dressing are quite challenging for the elderly, designing elements that they can wear easily and that will not affect their daily lives are among the results reached in the research. Considering the increase in people's life expectancy, it is thought that more elderly people will be affected by this situation in the coming years. Within the scope of this study, interviews were conducted with elderly consumers using a predetermined interview form using the semi-structured interview method. Cotton shirts were tried on by 80 participants over the age of 65, size 42, who voluntarily participated in the interview and shopped at LC WAIKIKI. The data obtained from the interviews were analyzed using the descriptive analysis method. In line with the analyzed findings, it is predicted that it will meet the expectations, demands and needs of female and elderly consumers over the age of 65; 10 blouse-shirt designs suitable for the spring-summer season have been made.
