Abstract (EN)
The deep-rooted history of music as a means of communication dating back to the beginning of humanity renders it extremely significant. It has been observed for centuries that music is not only an effective communication tool but also a healing tool that helps medicine and has been demonstrated with applications. For the purpose of this study, we tried to find answers to the problem "What are the effects of music on individuals undergoing anesthesia?" and five sub-problems related to this problem. In this context, a literature review was conducted on TÜBİTAK and Ulakbim databases within the scope of DergiPark service. As a result of this search, 140 theses, papers, articles, books and scientific meeting presentations on various topics were found and 86 studies that served the purpose were included in the study. In addition, in the study, which aims to examine the studies investigating the effects of music on anesthetized patients in depth and to combine and reveal the common or contrasting findings of studies under different titles under a single roof, it is aimed to draw attention to the researches conducted in the field and to present a basic perspective on the subject by examining the researches conducted on this subject. As a result, it has been concluded that our country should be more effectively interested in the healing aspect of music, music has a positive effect on the whole body, a positive or negative effect of music has not been found in a small number of studies and the reason for this may be listening to a single type of music, music gives effective results with the sound of the mother's heartbeat in children aged 0-18 months, and patients are more positively affected when they choose a music they want. In the suggestions part, we suggested that multidisciplinary studies, experiments with a larger number of participants, studies on the attitudes of the medical community on the healing system with music, joint work of the scientific and artistic community, and the number of studies on the effect of music on patients receiving anesthesia should be increased.
