Use of proverbs in teaching Arabic

Proverbs are sentences that contain a certain provision and tell a lot in few words. They are also the most prominent reflective and carrier of culture which houses the life codes of a nation. The most comprehensive way to understand culture is to study the language of that culture. This study aims to examine and evaluate the use of precedent in teaching Arabic. In this context, the study primarily focused on foreign language teaching. In this section, topics such as the history of foreign language teaching, the methods used, reading in a foreign language, Arabic as a foreign language and the techniques used in teaching Arabic are examined. Afterwards, the concept of parable was discussed. In this section, the definition of the concept of parable, its features, importance and benefits, how it is included in literary arts, its structure, types. In the last part of the study, the use of proverbs in teaching Arabic is discussed.
