Abstract (EN)

The subject of our thesis is Aristotle's, one of the important philosophers of the ancient Greek period, views on what the soul is as a result of movement, change and the effect of change on the soul in his philosophy of physics. In our study, the basic concepts such as existence, substance, matter, form and soul, which are related to movement and change, will be defined in terms of Aristotle's understanding of nature presenting a consistent and systematic philosophy of physics. In the first part, the views of pre- Aristotelian natural philosophers on the meaning of matter in physics, which they accepted as the archetype of motion and change, will be included. In the second part, Aristotle's analyses on the explainability of life in nature as a result of the existence that he emphasized in his philosophical system and the connection of existence with movement and change from an ontological perspective will be explained. In the third part, the philosopher's explanations about the roles of all these active concepts mentioned in the soul doctrine, what the soul is and its faculties will be revealed.
