Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this thesis study is to determine some metal concentrations in water hyacinths invading Asi River in Antakya province. In this context, water hyacinth samples were collected from different regions of the Asi River and metal analyzes were carried out. According to the data obtained, beryllium (Be), sodium (Na), aluminum (Al), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), copper (Cu), zinc (Zn) and molybdenum (Mo) concentrations were determined in water hyacinth. The highest Be concentration in water hyacinth is 10.5 mg/kg in the stem part at sampling point-3, the highest Al, K, Ca and Zn concentration in the root zone at sampling point-2 is 8749, 60029, 35447 and 142 mg/kg. In water hyacinth, the highest Cu concentration is 36.12 mg/kg in the root zone at sampling point-1, the highest Mo concentration is 2.01 mg/kg in the leaf part at sampling point-1. The highest Na concentration is at sampling point-1 It was found to be 6949 mg/kg in the body part in. As a result, it was determined that some metals were found in different organs of the water hyacinths invading the Asi River and that these metals were well accumulated by the water hyacinth.
