The relation of Avant-garde theory, modern art and architecture

Architecture is an art which depends on socio-cultural changes, economic data and technological developments. Space covers the subject of architectural practice and also the only feature forming an architectural product is the main condition that forms its own. In the early 20th century the ?avant-garde? theory which emerged in the field of art had influence in the formation of new thoughts in the architecture and so the inner space design. This study consists of four parts, which was carried out about the avant-garde theory and the concepts that it has given to the architectural space design.The first chapter, approach of the subject, defining the problem and the aim of the study are explained. The method of usage and techniques are introduced.In the second chapter, in regard to the current of modern art and architecture of the 20th century, the influence of the avant-garde theory on art and architecture has been analyzed in conceptual point of view.In the third chapter, innovation, shock, montage, symbolism, senselessness, contradiction, revolution, being beyond the time and autonomy that are achieved as a result of the analysis and that are main principles of avant-garde theory are all studied. And these concepts are daily defined in one or two each example of the recent years products involved in the architectural literature. Also, the values which these concepts have added to the architectural environment and the effects of these values on people are presented.In the fourth chapter result and conclusions and in the fifth chapter further arguments take part for future researches.
