Social policy regulations for immigrants in the European Union and Turkey

Abstract (EN)

This study aims to explain one of the most important issues of our age- migration and social policies directed at said migrants. İn order to achive this goal it is important to understand the concepts of social policyand migration. To achive this goal, the social policy and migration issues of the European Union will be examined first. Then three countries which are EU members, but differ significantly in terms of culture and goverment- Sweden, the United Kingdom and Germany- will be analyzed in terms of migration history and policy. The Republic of Turkey, an EU candidate country, has experienced migration from the Balkans and Caucasus since its foundation. This lead Turkey to adopt policies from the perpective of migrants. The final part of this study will examine migration and migration policy from the founding of the Turkish Republic until present. Finally by comparing Turkey and the three countries in questions in terms of migration and migration policy an attempt will be made to make proposals for Turkey in this area.
