Abstract (EN)

In this study; attachment styles of the people who are at the process of divorce were investigated in terms of coping skills, problem solving skills, communication styles and some demographic variables.This study is based on causal comparative and correlational research methods. The sample of the study consist of 144 people, who are at the process of divorce at the Kadikoy Family Courts.The data were gathered by Personal Information Form prepared by researcher, Problem Solving skills Inventory, attachment Styles Scale, Coping Styles Scale and Conflict Communication Scale. To test the hypotheses of the study t-test, F test, Pearson Product-Moment Correlation Techniques and regression analysis methods.According to the hierarchical regression analyzes results; in the process of divorce, all of demographic variables were predicted each attachment styles. Self-Disclosure, active planning, emotional escape predicted secure attachment style. Age and education predicted the fearful attachment style. All dimesions of conflict communication styles, problem solving skills and coping styles predicted the fearful attachment style. The statement of parent and emotional escape predicted preoccupied attachment style. Age and emotional escape predicted dismissing attachment style.All this results are discussed in the light of psychological help, assessment process of family court, relevant literature and some new direction are given to the further studies.Key words: process of divorce, attachment styles, problem solving, coping, conflict communication style.
