Investigathion of the effects of flue gases on environment and air quality for Batman province

Abstract (EN)

In this study, temperature, O2, CO2, Dilute CO, NO, NOx, SO2 parameters were evaluated to evaluate flue gas measurement. Measurements were examined using the Testo-340 instrument. Air pollution measurements were analyzed from different districts of Batman on specified days and times. The analysis of pressure, temperature and velocity values of the particles in the chimney was modeled numerically with ANSYS Workbench 14.5 Fluent, licensed by Batman University. With this modeling, the pressure, speed and temperature values of the flue inlet and flue outlet were compared. Flue gas efficiency was calculated by analyzing the flue gas. Fuel types of chimneys; natural gas, wood compound (60%) (wood (60%) and coal (40%)) and lignite. Separate measurements were made for these fuels and evaluated. In the analysis made by numerical modeling, the results of the data obtained from different fuel types and flue efficiency were calculated. Efficiency values of fuels and flue gas measurement data for each fuel type were evaluated together and the most suitable fuel type was determined. In addition, combustion efficiency of the particles released from the flue gas was calculated to determine the fuel performances. Calculated combustion efficiency and combustion efficiency were examined and fuel saving was evaluated. As a result of this yield, it was thought that the study would be beneficial for the literature in order to be able to breathe better quality O2 and to minimize the harmful gases emitted from the chimneys. In this study, particles released to atmosphere as a result of using lignite fuel type; O2: 4,14 ppm, CO: 5,12 ppm, NO: 8,21 ppm, CO2 (%): 2,57. The wood compound (60%) was used to determine the particulates released into the atmosphere as a result of the use of the fuel type; O2: 0,95 ppm, CO: 10,9 ppm, NO: 11,3 ppm, CO2 (%): 3,7. As a result of the use of natural gas fuel type particles released into the atmosphere; O2: 8,76 ppm, CO: 0,5 ppm, NO: 2,3 ppm, CO2 (%): 1,82 values were determined. Comparing these values, it has been seen that natural gas in fuel types is the most ideal fuel type in terms of harmful particles released into the atmosphere.
