Abstract (EN)

"Some Effects of the Lighting Techniques on Trees Physical Characteristics and Visual Perceptions" This thesis will consider the dominant characteristics and aesthetic beauty of plants, which are the most important part of landscape design even at nighttime. It is aimed to show how different lighting techniques are applied to determine the impact of this on human beings and their visual perceptions. These results have been acquired by photographing lighting techniques applied to sample plants, and the survey work relating to these photos. 94 random people were selected in order to apply the questionnaire. In this questionnaire, the topics about which appropriate techniques can emphasize the plants' characteristic features and the effects of the lighting techniques on plants, which are assumed to be effective on the plants' appearance were examined. As a result, these applied lighting techniques are found as affective on plant visual perception and emphasize their characteristic features. These different types of lighting techniques are especially used to emphasize different plant forms or different dominant features of plants. Finally it is also obtained that which techniques can be used depended upon the aim of design and what should be pay attention to relating the design criteria.
