Abstract (EN)
As in all medicinal aromatic plants, the determination of the chemical contents of sage species and the purification of their bioactive components for targeted use are increasing day by day. It is important because of its commercial value for different industries in terms of increasing its usability in food flavorings, cosmetic formulations, aromatherapy and pesticides. Since essential oils are obtained from different organs (root, stem, leaf, flower, fruit, seed) of medicinal and aromatic plants, their characteristic odor and color may differ depending on the plants, species and organs. In this study, essential oil compositions of S. hypargeia Fisch., & Mey., S. aethiopis L., S. officinalis L. taxa of Salvia genus distributed in Kastamonu province were analyzed by GCMS device. The results of this study are aimed to contribute to the literature. KEYWORDS: Salvia sp., Kastamonu, GC-MS, Essential oil
