Abstract (EN)

In suspicious deaths, insect development and successional data are used to estimate the postmortem interval (PMI). Drug related deaths may result in drug transmission to feeding insects and subsequent alteration on their development, thereby altering PMI. This study investigated the influence of drugs which has extensive use and increasing drug related deaths, on Calliphora vicina. Amphetamine (Adderall) exhibited a trend of prolonged both larval and pupal development. Adderall decelerated the larval development up to 18-22 hour. Tramadol (Contramal) cause 24 hour delaying of larval development of C.vicina. C.vicina larvae were reared on bovine lung treated with Clonazepam (Rivotril) exhibit accelaration on larval development up to 12 hour deceleration on pupal stages. Present study firstly investigate the effects of Listenon on the forensically important insect species, C.vicina, Succinylcholine (Lysthenon) cause prolongation up to 22-24 hour of larval development and decelerate the pupal stage up to 5 hour. The effects of Amphetamine, Süksinilkolin and Clonazepam on the C.vicina development are firstly investigated in present study. These preliminary findings suggest that these drugs may alter the duration of C.vicina developmental stages and consequently PMI estimations.
