Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis is the realization of probabilistic and physical model-based hazard analyses for landslides in the area covering the borders of Beşikdüzü district. For this purpose, firstly, an inventory map of the observed landslide areas was prepared using Google Earth satellite images, and the determined failure areas were inspected by field studies. Unit densities, Atterberg limits and shear resistance parameters were determined with disturbed and undisturbed soil samples taken from a total of 11 landslide locations. Using the 1:25,000 scale digital topographic maps of the study area produced by the General Directorate of Mapping, a 10 m spatial resolution digital elevation model (DEM) was produced in the Geographical Information Systems (GIS) environment, and secondary topographic data were obtained from the DEM. For the temporal recurrence probabilities of the landslides triggered by precipitation, the precipitation data obtained from the General Directorate of Meteorology were statistically analyzed, and spatial magnitude-frequency analyzes were performed for the spatial possibilities. The susceptibility assessment based on the physical model was obtained using the Shalstab mathematical model and compared with the susceptibility maps produced by the probabilistic Logistic Regression (LR) and Support Vector Machines (SVM) methods. Based on the precipitation values, the possible landslide hazard maps of the area were produced by taking into account the 1, 2, 5, 10 and 20-year recurrence periods and the threshold values determined by the areal magnitude.
