Abstract (EN)
Strengthening beams which have insufficient shear reinforcement using GFRP and CFRP with strong structural additives an beam surface has become a widely used method in researches. In these methods, both materials are glued on beam surface using epoxy based adhesive. Moreover, it?s applied to additional measurements like bolt and welding to prevent delamination of plates from beam surface in some applications. In this study, RC beams with deficient shear reinforcement were strengthened using CFRP plates. GFRP strips were glued onto the beam sides and a number of anchor bolt used to prevent delamination of GFRP strips. In the study, effect of number of anchor bolts on capacity of these strengthened beams has been studied. In this study, 5 RC simply supported beams were tested. In the study, one good reference member designed to earthquake code, one bad reference member with deficient shear reinforcement and three members strengthened with GFRP plates. Anchor bolting application was executed in the strengthened three members. Anchorage was performed 2, 3, and 4 bolts, respectively onto the beam surfaces of GFRP strips fixed on beam. All the beams in the study were test under monotonic loads. The obtained results by strengthened beam tests were compared to the results obtained from experiment members called good and bad reference. Beams using 2 and 3 anchor bolt from strengthened beams bear much load than the beam called bad reference and failure by shear fracture. However, shear fracture was observed in these two beams as well as bad reference. Beams using 4 anchor bolts for fixing GFRP strips onto the beam surfaces have bear much load than the beam called bad reference and failure by shear fracture. Besides this, load bearing capacity of this beam is approximately equal to the beam called good reference and observed bending failure. Finally, this beam failure resulted bending with ductile behavior.
