Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, from 2080 until the year 2020, it was worked on reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions in existing buildings in Turkey considering the effects of climate change in the coming years. In the study, it is aimed to develop suggestions for optimum building envelope, mechanical system and building form group design parameters in terms of primary energy consumption, CO2 emission and global cost in existing and new buildings to reach the targets in the agreements signed by Turkey. These measures were gradually applied to existing buildings over a decade, and their effects were examined using simulation-based optimization. At the end of the thesis study, the primary energy consumption and CO2 emission decrease thanks to gradual suggestions in the buildings located in the provinces with different climatic characteristics. In addition, it was found that the energy consumption of buildings can be reduced by taking the effects of climate change into consideration in Turkey. So, a reference resource contributing to the literature for existing and new buildings were created with the thesis.
