Abstract (EN)
Advancements in sequencing technologies have increased the demand for bioinformatics tools to process sequence and alignment data. Tools that support multiple sequence alignment are essential for tasks like evolutionary studies, motif discovery, and phylogenetics. However, many existing tools suffer from limitations such as restricted file format support, inadequate annotation capabilities, underdeveloped motif analysis, and inefficiency in handling large datasets. Furthermore, complex user interfaces often significantly hinder usability. This thesis proposes the development of a modern, user-friendly, and cross-platform sequence analysis platform built on Biopython, a versatile and actively maintained bioinformatics library. The tool integrates essential features such as sequence viewing and editing, multiple sequence alignment, annotation management, motif analysis, and phylogenetic tree support while addressing key gaps in existing software. Key innovations include enhanced file format compatibility, an integrated annotation viewer and editor, advanced pattern search functionality, and memory-efficient handling of large datasets and an indexing mechanism that supports working with extremely large files. By addressing limitations in existing tools and leveraging Biopython's robust framework, this work presents a scalable and versatile platform for biological sequence analysis. The proposed tool meets the growing needs of researchers in analyzing and interpreting large and complex biological datasets, paving the way for future advancements in bioinformatics.
