Abstract (EN)

In this study, by investigating DC-DC converters of which the importance have been increasing in recent years, a PIC16F84A based control method is developed and converter system is implemented. As with the difference between the DC-DC converters used in industry and the DC-DC converter designed in this study, PIC16F84A used in the DC-DC converter in this study is supposed more functional circuit. Another important case is that the microcontroller (PIC16F87A) is reduced the total cost of the DC-DC converter because of its small size and low cost. The designed converter is formed by a power circuit and a microcontroller used for controlling the converter. The converter works as a Buck or Boost converter depend on the demanded output voltage level.First of all, DC-DC Buck-Boost converter is operated in the mode of Buck or Boost by adjusting the switching time. Then, the controller simulation which has a feedback after PI controller is implemented successfully as a Buck or Boost converter in Matlab/Simulink without changing switching time. The specifications of the converter is transfered to PIC 16F84A by a software in the application step with real components. After the implementation step DC-DC converter is worked in the buck or boost mode and obtained successful results.
