Abstract (EN)

In this thesis study, seven novel bis(4-bromobenzenesulfonate) derivatives [2(a–g)] were synthesized. For this purpose, 4-formylphenyl-4-bromobenzenesulfonate (1) was reacted with 1,4-diaminobutane, 1,5-diaminopentane, 1,6-diaminohexane, 1,7-diaminoheptane, 1,8-diaminooctane, 1,9-diaminononane, and 1,10-diaminodecane via solvent-free heating, yielding Schiff base-containing alkyl bis(4-bromobenzenesulfonate) compounds [2(a–g)]. The structures of the synthesized compounds were elucidated using FT-IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR (APT), and mass spectrometry techniques. These compounds were tested against 9 microorganisms. Additionally, the synthesized compounds were evaluated for their cytotoxic effects on lung cancer cell lines Calu1 (ATCC, HTB-54), A549 (ATCC, CCL-185), and H1650 (ATCC, CRL-5883), as well as bone cancer cell lines SW1353 (ATCC, HTB-94), MG63 (ATCC, CRL-1427), and Saos2 (ATCC, HTB-85). Finally, in silico study of compound 2a having biological activity was conducted.
