An investigation of "Bulmaca Kulesi (Puzzle Tower)" program in terms of life skills

In this research, it is aimed to examine the TV programme called "Bulmaca Kulesi" in terms of its emphasis on basic life skills. Qualitative research was used as research method. In this research, document analysis, one of the qualitative data collection methods was used and the data was subjected to content analysis. Bulmaca Kulesi TV programme also described as document for this study. Bulmaca Kulesi TV programme was limited to 34 chapter and criterion sampling method which is one of the purposive sampling methods was used in the study. In this research, a table was created that indicates life skills and sub-extents, that can express life skills in the program by the researcher. In mentioned table, the subdimesion that express life skills were determined by the researcher considering the basic definitions of skills in the literature. As a result of this research, all of the life skills that provided in elementary school science education curriculum of the MEB were examined in 34 chapter of Bulmaca Kulesi TV programme. Among the life skills, the most decesion making skills were found, while the last teamwork skills were found. Another result is that the program can be use as an educational method.
