Abstract (EN)

As the number of electronic devices in our daily lives increases day by day, the risk of electromagnetic interference (EMI) between the devices and between the device and the grid increases. Refrigerators are the only devices found in almost every home and work non-stop. Besides refrigerators have many electrical and electronic components that may contribute to EMI. For this reason, refrigerators have importance in terms of electromagnetic interference. In this study, it is aimed to analyze the impacts of the changes in the cable distribution of a refrigerator and the addition of the ferrite filters on the conducted electromagnetic emission test, which is carried out in accordance with the IEC 55014-1 standard and covers frequencies between 150kHz-30 MHz. For this research, three identical refrigerators were prepared. In the first one, AC and DC cables are fully aligned and entangled, in the second one, AC and DC cables are fully separated and in the third one, AC and DC cables are fully entangled on the refrigerator body but separated inside the control board box. The refrigerator with fully entangled AC and DC cables was chosen as the reference product and conducted electromagnetic emission tests were carried out for phase lines and neutral lines to examine the impact of cable distributions on electromagnetic interference. In addition, ferrite core and amorphous core were added to the AC and DC cable groups in the control board box for filtering the electromagnetic noise, and their impacts on the test results were examined when compared with the reference product which has no filtering. While it was seen that completely separating AC and DC cables improved the test results at almost every frequency, the product with AC and DC cables fully entangled on the refrigerator body but separated inside the control board box failed the test. Whether the filter used is ferrite or amorphous, the location of the filter is AC or DC cables, the results are better than the product without a ferrite filter.
