Abstract (EN)

Naming a generation… Having succeeded the firsts… İbrahim Çallı is one of the rare artists in the field of art. Today, İbrahim Çallı, who is the pioneer of Modern Turkish painting is known as a unique artist and tutor. Starting from Constitutional Era through a long phase of time, Çallı places himself among the intellectuals, who studied Art for the first time, carried impressionism into their homeland and projected the phases of Turkish painting. This work has been prepared by making use of the sources on the internet, research papers, notices of symposiums and source books and it mentions the other important artists of Çallı' s contemporaries and examines his works with an artistic point of view. In this work, the introduction of Impressionism into Turkish painting has been analyzed and Çallı' s place among local and foreign impressionists has been evaluated through his paintings. In conclusion, Çallı who brought nude into Turkish painting, has written the history of Turkish painting with his brush by striking it enthusiastically on the canvas.
