Abstract (EN)

Preparing Forest Management Plan Using GIS in Evenaged Forestry Forests which are natural resource and dynamic have served for people over the history. Result of developing computer technology and increasing knowledge about forest ecosystem, tools which forest management use were replaced by alternative planning techniques. Preparing forest management plan requires computer technology. Therefore, GIS (Geographical Information System) was used in preparing conventional forest management plans in Turkey in this study. A sample study area was selected and present forest management guideline by OGM was used as a basis. Spatial database in evenaged forest in selected area was established using GIS and thus forest management plan was prepared accordingly. Stand table and terrain map was used as input in preparing forest management plan using GIS in evenaged forest. Using these inputs which are located in database, all tables and maps included & required forest management plan were produced. Besides DEM (Digital Elevation System), slope and aspect map, crown closure map, tree volume map, developing stage map and management unite map which are not in forest management plan were also produced using GIS.
