Abstract (EN)

In this study, specific harmonics in output waveforms of multilevel inverters are eliminated by using Selective Harmonic Elimination Pulse Width Modulation Technique (SHEPWM). Nonlinear equations, which enable to find switching angles obtained through SHEPWM in order to remove dominant harmonics are optimized with Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique and Genetic Algorithm (GA) methods. Thus output waveform total harmonic distortion value is reduced. Optimized results are tested on a 7-level and 11-level inverters and output wave signals are observed. According to data obtained, it is observed that Genetic Algorithm optimisation results are much better than Particle Swarm Optimization results.
