Abstract (EN)
This thesis investigates the potential of digital twin technology in smart ports and how it can revolutionize the effectiveness, environmental impact, and security of port operations. Smart ports are in search of innovative solutions to meet the growing demands of global trade and achieve environmental sustainability goals. Digital twin technology creates a virtual copy of a physical port, enabling real-time monitoring and analysis of operations. This study integrates various modern technologies in smart ports, focusing on how digital twin integration optimizes port operations. It highlights the significant advancements that digital twins can bring in terms of operational efficiency, environmental sustainability, and security management. Additionally, the thesis assesses the impact of digital twins on employee training, the development of robust security protocols, and the enhancement of customer satisfaction. Through detailed analysis, this research confirms that digital twin technology is not just an addition to smart port capabilities but a pivotal step towards more advanced, sustainable, and secure port operations. Digital twins' ability to simulate and optimize operations makes them essential in the strategic planning of smart ports, particularly in addressing the complexities of global trade logistics. The study concludes that adopting digital twin technology is vital for evolving smart ports into more efficient, environmentally friendly, and secure facilities, thus playing a crucial role in the future of global maritime logistics.
