Abstract (EN)

Tourism and commerce, which have played a very important role in the lives of societies and individuals throughout history, have become a single market as a result of the acceleration of globalization in today's world due to various reasons (trade-tourism increase, etc.), especially technological opportunities. Undoubtedly, one of the two most important actors in this market is multinational companies and global public institutions. It is accepted that multinational companies are the determinant of foreign direct investment in the world. States and institutions providing international interstate cooperation (eg the European Union) work to ensure that these multinational companies provide maximum benefit for their societies and not harm them (At least in theory and ideal). In our study, the global economy, multinational companies, foreign direct investment will be tried to be analyzed. In addition, the analysis of the effects of foreign direct investment on economic growth, employment and national security will be discussed. As a result of the application of panel data analysis, it was concluded that foreign direct investments are insufficient to explain the annual, percentage increase in gross domestic product and economic growth in this sense. However, as a result of the panel data analysis, it was concluded that a one percent increase in the amount of foreign direct investment could increase per capita income by 0.014 percent. As a result of the Panel VAR model Granger causality analysis, it was concluded that foreign direct capital investments emerge as a cause of economic growth, but the opposite is not true. İt has been determined that if the increase in the amount of direct foreign capital results in the transfer of dominant share structure and company control to foreigners in sectors critical to national security, and if it causes important information to go abroad uncontrolled, this will lead to serious negative consequences in the economic life of the country. Finally, it has been concluded that direct investments are a very important instrument to improve the country's sphere of influence.
