Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, the real time speed control of the designed single sided linear induction motor is realized. In our studies, firstly, our main focus is on the features and structure of LIMs and the criteria which should be taken into consideration during the design process. In the meantime, the electromagnetic phenomena in LIMs are defined and the end effect in field distribution throughout air gap, the most important one of electromagnetic phenomena, is analyzed. Moreover, the most proper equivalent circuit for LIMs is obtained by considering studies in the literature. The scalar speed control system applied to rotary ınduction motors is used for the aim of speed control in the practical application. Required control process for speed feedback is realized using fuzzy logic controller. The control structure suggested for designed motor is performed in the real time with PCI 6259 data acquisition card. Key Words: Linear induction motor and design, fuzzy logic controller, scalar control, real time data acquisition, Matlab/xPC Target.
