Abstract (EN)

Taking measures to prevent marine pollution caused by marine transportation is increasing everyday. One of these, and mostly important, is to provide waste reception facilities in the ports to put marines waste water in it and has to work efficiently to prevent marine environment pollution. Functionality and efficiency of the waste reception facilities in the ports is taking an important place to protect marine environment. In this study, treatment efficiency of the waste reception facilities in some ports of the Eastern Blacksea (Trabzon, Rize, Hopa, Giresun, Ordu, Ünye) has been discussed by measuring the value of temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, chemical oxygen requirement, oil and grease and the suspended solid material in the bilge water which are being taken from these facilities. The capacity of the waste reception facilities in the researched ports was found to comply with the criteria set specified in Ships Waste Collection and Waste Control Regulations. But because of not to run treatment systems in some of the ports, treatment couldn?t be made and sending bilge water, separated by the settling method, to the disposal facilities were determined. The treatment removal efficiency of waste reception facilities in Ünye Port which has fully operational system and researched ports in the scope of work, is determined %99,8 for suspended solid material; %99,9 for oil and grease; %94,1 for chemical oxygen requirement.
