Dokuz Eylül Üniversitesi Hastanesi acil servis birimi'ne başvuran hastaların tanı, takip ve tedavi işlemlerinin sağlıkta kalite standartlarına göre değerlendirilmesi: Geriatrik hasta grubu örneği

Introduction: Healthcare system is a surrogate of the countries level of development. Emer-gency departments are due to provide nonstop healthcare by different professionals and this is the challenge against the standartisation. We aim to provide geriatric patient group a high qua-lity emergency care by the scope of Turkish Ministry of Health Guide 'version5'. Material and method: The prospective study was conducted in Dokuz Eylül University hos-pital department of Emergency Medicine in a period of 01.12.2015 – 01.01.2016. The geriatric age group was taken to the study. They were due to complete a questionnare containing five questions which was created under the scope of Likertscale. Results: The questionnare was completed by 400 patients over 658 attendents (%60,7). The gender was 210 male (52,5). The patients were highly stayed in their own flats and mainly had primary school education. The statiscally significant correlation was found in education group in the question of 'according to you, was the waiting time for the test long' , the group having primary school education found it long. Conclusion: Considering the patient group mainly having primary school education ¬that ad-mitted to the emergency department, the explanation of the emergency department flow gains importance. In this way patients can contribute to their treatment and carry on their treatment after the emergency department discharge. KeyWords: Emergency department, Healthcare quality, Geriatric patients
