Political, military and social analysis of the Navy journal (1910-1919)

The Navy Journal was one of the most important media organs of the Second Constitutionalist period. As the media organ of the Navy Community, it began its broadcasting life to represent the importance of the navy to Ottoman society in 1910. The journal also gave place to articles about various important subjects along with the importance of the navy. Numerous articles were written about the Tripoli War, the Balkan War, and the World War One. Besides, there were also many evaluations related to foreign states. In the articles about the foreign states, while propaganda was made positively in the articles related to Germany and Austria-Hungary Empire, counter-propaganda was made in the articles related to the Entente States. Although the Navy Journal was a military media organ, it had also social and cultural articles in its scope. In the journal, any issue concerning society was addressed and solution recommendations were provided for the issues seen as problems. That there were many literary articles in the journal demonstrates that it contributed to the literary world of that period. The issues of sport and trade were also often mentioned in the journal. Another point drawing attention was that there were articles in favour of the Union and Progress in the Navy Journal. The Navy Journal was published as 192 numbers in total between the years 1910-1919.
