The aim of this study is, to explain the basic hypothesis of contingency approach which defends that the organization structure which is suitable for area and conditions can be determine with some scientific research methods and to explain the results of a research study. The reason for choosing such a subject for master's thesis is, the aim of contingency approach, which is to find solutions according to the conditions and because of the contingency approachs not to loses its currency at any time. As the environmental factors became complex, the importance and functionality of contingency approach increased, and in the future this tendency will be continue. This study includes three parts. In the first part, it is explained that, what contingency approach is and what its basic hypothesises are. In the second part, the main researchs which were made in the limits of contingency approach were summarized. The third part includes the results of a research which was made in tea factories in the east black sea region. The research was made in two grades. The first grade of the research was made m 16 Caykur 37 private sector tea factories, in total 53 tea factories. In the second grade, 3 Caykur factories and 7 private sector factories were put into the extent of the research. In this manner, the number of factories which the research was made in, increased to 19 Caykur XIfactories and 44 private sector factories, in total 63 factories. The research depens on face to face conversations which were made with factory administrators. The main variables which are studied in the research are, environmental complexity, environmental changeability, environmental uncertainity, technology, division of labor, standardisation, formal structure, to become a united whole, autonomy, centralism and greatness. The data of the poll study, was explained using the frequency analysis method and reached the conclusion. Organizational structure was discussed with the routine-not routine dimensions. XII
