Abstract (EN)

This research is aimed to examine the leaders' roles, values, styles of teachers who work in eco-schools. In the first section of the research, the state, aim, importance, limitations and assumptions of the problem have been discussed. In this section, a brief information has been given about the research. In the second part of the research; it is focused on eco-schools and leadership basic concepts; and a detailed research about the concept what the eco-schools are and conditions to be an eco-school and benefits of being an eco-school. The definition of eco-leadership which is a new concept and leadership styles for eco-schools have been mentioned. In the third section, model of the research, the universe and examplification, have been described. Also in this section some information is given about how data is collected. In the fourth section, it is given place to the interpretation of the data obtained. The study shows that an eco-school leader plays three distinct roles. The roles are: inspirational (motivational), leaders as learners and creative leaders. The study revealed that the project leaders demonstrate five leadership styles: instructional, participative, transformational, moral and eco-leadership. In looking at what eco-school leaders' values, five key values were identified. Eco-school leaders are student-centered, collabrators, environmentalist,open for professional development also they involve families and communities into the project and promote ownership.
