The effects of migration, problems and suggestions in rural area of Emirdag district

Rural out-migraiton which has been continuing during the more than 50 years, accelerates the transition from farming society type to the urban society type as well as redistribution of poplation between rural and urban in Turkey. In this process, while urban is poplated, rapidly, rural areas started to be depopulated. In conclusion, rural out-migration the less affects rural areas, deeply, too in comparation to the urban areas so this type migraiton change socio-economical structure.The aim of this study is to determine the results and the effects of migrations on rural areas which is the source of migraiton, in case of Emirdağ district which has been internal out-migration and external out-migration since approximately half century. Migration process which starts with seasonal workers due to economical reasons continues with internal out-migration and external out migration and it causes the decreases in rural population as more than half of population. The migrations which are currently continuing, affect the rural areas in terms of population and its characters, settlement, dwelling types, land use and services. In conclusion, a rural appearance where unproductive women, old people and children exist emerged. The productivity of stock-breeding and agriculture decrease more and more and settlements are left in this type rural appearance. Thus, Because of the fact that rural area turned into the centers where internal and external out-migrations are send by rural areas, this type rural area presents being abandoned to its fate rather than re-developed rural area after migration.
