Istanbul and İstanbul life in the divan of Enderunlu Vâsif

Localization and social life are sources of inspiration for the artistry of Enderunlu Vâsıf. Vâsıf, in the influence of the style of localization, has made a large divan. In this thesis, the place and function of İstanbul in Vâsıf's poem and the ways in which it was examined and reflected in the poem are investigated. The characteristics of the life in Istanbul in Vâsıf's poetry, the elements related to the life in Istanbul, the elements associated with it are tried to be revealed through sample poems and couplets. It is also taken into consideration that divan poetry outlined the classical line and provided clues about change by giving place to the local elements in his poetry The touristic and entertainment stops of Istanbul, the capital of the Ottoman Empire for five hundred years, their tastes and loves, the local elements that shed light on the daily life of the people are the main subjects of the study.In addition, the relationship of localization with the elements such as the traditions and beliefs in the Ottoman society, the art and the various professions, the culture of eating, the clothing and apparel, and the public works are also evaluated. Thus, in this study, the place of the life in İstanbul in divan poetry at the XVIII. century is tried to determined and clarified from the perspective of Enderunlu VAsıf 's Divan perspective.
