Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study was to examine the role of perfectionism and FoMO in predicting academic procrastination in high school students. The participants of the study were 451 high school students (227 female and 224 male). The Academic Procrastination Form, the Child and Adolescent Perfectionism Scale, the Fear of Missing Out Scale-FoMOs, and the Demographic Information Form were used to collect data. In the study, an independent group t test was used to determine whether the average scores of the variables differed by gender, and Pearson correlation analysis was used to examine the relationships between academic procrastination, perfectionism, and FoMO. In line with the main purpose of the study, multiple linear regression analysis was used to predict the role of perfectionism and FOMO in academic procrastination. The results revealed that perfectionism and FoMO were significant predictors of academic procrastination. These two variables explained 23.5% of the total variance in academic procrastination. The findings of the study were discussed in the light of the related literature, and suggestions were made for further research and practice.
