The role and regulatory role of psychological stability between social and emotional life and drugs in adolescents

With this research, it was aimed to investigate the role of psychological resilience in the relationships between social and emotional loneliness and peer bullying and victimization in adolescents. In the study, relational and descriptive screening model which investigated relationships between social and emotional loneliness, peer bullying, peer victimization and psychological resilience was utilized. The sample of the research was composed of 747 students in 414 girls and 333 boys in 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grades in the secondary education level in the Bayburt Provincial Center in 2017-2018 academic year. Personal Information Form, Peer Bullying and Victimization Scale, Social and Emotional Loneliness Scale, and Psychological Resilience Scale were used as data collection tools. Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient, independent samples t test, one way ANOVA, Scheffe test and Bootstrap method were used on the data obtained in the implementation process. The bootstrap method was performed by the PROCESS macro produced by Preacher and Hayes (2004) for SPSS. According to the results obtained in the research, it was found that peer bullying was positively correlated with social and emotional loneliness, negatively related with psychological resilience, and peer victim was positively correlated with emotional loneliness and negatively associated with psychological resilience. No significant statistical relationship was found between peer victimization and social loneliness. However, psychological well-being was negatively associated with both social and emotional loneliness. However, peer bullying and victimization were examined in terms of gender, class level and socioeconomic level. Firstly, it was found that in terms of gender, the mean score of peer bullying and peer victimization scores of males is higher than females. There were no significant difference in peer bullying in terms of class level. However, the mean scores of bullying with 12th grade students were higher than those with 10th students. When the socioeconomic level was examined, it was seen that the mean scores of peer bullying and peer victimization scores of adolescents did not differ in terms of socioeconomic level. It was found that psychological plays a partial mediator role between social loneliness and peer bullying. Additionally, it was seen that psychological resilience played fully mediating role in the relationship between emotional loneliness and peer bullying. Finally, the findings of the research process were discussed in the light of the literature.
