Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to investigate motivational factors that motivate adoles-cents to recreation activities in the extent of serious leisure perspective. The study conducted in three steeps including the pilot study, the validity and reliability study ant the third study in which hypotheses of the study were tested. In the study as data gathering tool Baldwin and Caldwell (2003)' s "Free Time Motivation Scale for Ado-lescents" was used and adopted into Turkish. The scale translated into Turkish with the translated translation again method and validity was assessed with Confirmatory Factor Analysis and reliability was assessed with Cronbach' s Alpha and Half Split Reliability methods. In the study NFI, NNFI, IFI, RFI, CFI, GFI, AGFI, RMSEA, SRMR was assessed as fit indicates. According to results it was found that FTMS-A to be valid and reliable with 19 items and 5 factors. Also significant differences were emerged in the free time motivation of the adolescents according to gender, class, participating in school sports, doing regular sport and being serious leisure participant but according to age no significant difference was found.
