Abstract (EN)

Sleep apnea syndrome is common in society, a disease that causes significant mortality and morbidity. Sleep apnea syndrome in the community at least two times greater in men than women is not a rare disease is defined. Phrenic nerve, mainly responsible for the inspiration of the diaphragm is responsible for motor stimulation. Phrenic nerve in OSAS patients in this study, we examined whether there were to be affected. For this purpose, 22 diagnosed with severe OSAS and 29 healthy individuals were included in our study. In these cases, the phrenic nerve, neck, cervical root and cortical response to TMS were measured. The data obtained in the control group showed no significant difference between the patient groups. Phrenic nerve, we obtained data showed that in patients with OSAS not be affected. Keywords: OSAS, phrenic nerve, diaphragm, TMS
