Abstract (EN)

At the present day, despite being a relatively young concept, social capital is become a popular subject that has been studied a wide range of field from economics to politics, from public administration to business administration, from health to education and from powerty to environmental and climate issues. In this thesis, the nexus between social capital and academical efficiency of the faculty of Karadeniz Technical University is investigated. Annual average number of written articles are taken as the indicator of the academical efficiency and then a survey is done with the aforecited faculty by e-mail and finally the data that collected from this survey are processed with the survey system of Ardahan University and statistical package program. In conclusion, the social capital of the faculty of Karadeniz Technical University is estimated relatively high. Nevertheless, it is observed from the regression analysis that there is a positive nexus between social capital and academical efficiency.
