Abstract (EN)

The success of institutions depends on the employees not experiencing burnout syndrome. Many variables affect burnout in organizations. Being able to prevent organizational gossip, which is one of these variables, is of great importance for managers as it will increase organizational commitment. When the literature is examined, it is seen that organizational gossip in institutions causes organizational burnout. This study aimed to investigate the effect of organizational gossip on the variables of organizational commitment and organizational burnout in the nurses' universe. In this context, a questionnaire was applied to 401 nurses throughout Gaziantep. As a result of the research, it was seen that organizational gossip had a positive effect on organizational commitment. On the other hand, it has been determined that organizational gossip positively affects the depersonalization dimension of the organizational burnout and organizational burnout scale. In this context, it has been determined that organizational commitment, emotional commitment, continuance commitment and normative commitment also increase in parallel with the increase in organizational gossip among nurses, who are health professionals. In addition, it was concluded that the increase in organizational gossip increases the level of organizational burnout and depersonalization in nurses. It is noteworthy that organizational gossip affects positive and negative attitudes and behaviors
