Determination of hazards, risks and risk assessment in drinking water treatment plant

Under the Law on Occupational Health and Safety No: 6331, since January 31, 2013, all workplaces have been imposed to perform a risk assessment. In this study, with the aim of contributing to the academic studies concerning this application, we analyze fundamental issues of occupational health and safety, and perform an application of risk assessment. In this study of risk assessment, which is prepared by determining the dangers and deal with Gaziantep Water and Sewerage Administration Hacıbaba Drinking Water Treatment Plant. By the fieldworks, all departments which dangers lie and how to abolish these dangers or to reduce them to a minimum. During this observation, on the basis of legal regulations, certain proposals are stated regarding the conclusions reached. In the table of risk assessment, Fine-Kinney method is employed. We state the precautions required against those dangers and risks, which are established within the framework of this method. It is remarked that the studies concerning occupational health and safety in the drinkin water treatment plants are as necessary as the quality of water refined in the plant and running from the tap.
