Abstract (EN)

Wires deployed in ground to detonate IED's for defense sector and high voltage lines for low altıtude flying helcopters in aeronautic sector generates threats. The common ground for those two application areas is the conductive wire structures. Detection and imaging of conductive wire scatteres is possible by electromagnetic methods. A method is proposed, investigated and verified experimentally for detection of conductive wire scatterers based on polarization angle in between illuminating electric field and the direction of the wire scatterer. Determination of the position and the numbers of the wire scatteres in 3 dimension, imaging of their shapes is evaluated as an inverse electromagnetic, scattering problem and solved by using MUSIC (MUltiple SIgnal Clasification) method. MUSIC method is implemented in both in 2 dimensional cylindrical and 3 dimensional Cartesian coordinate systems. MUSIC method is simulated and results are verified experimentally for both implementations. It is shown experimentally that MUSIC method is successfully determines the location, shapes, and number of the wire scatterers in the region of interest.
