Investigation of the problems encountered by occupational safety experts during occupational health and safety practices in the construction sector

The construction industry has been an important part of civilization since ancient times. The construction sector, which started with the settled life, has undergone a change from beginning to end with the change in needs, the production of new materials, the development of technology and the development of work tools in today's world where the world population is increasing rapidly. Employees who have to keep up with these changes are exposed to various chemical and biological risk factors as well as physical factors. In addition to all these dangers and risks, the fact that workers have to work at height and are forced to do their jobs quickly brings with it greater dangers and risks. In the thesis, it is aimed to determine the problems encountered by the occupational safety experts in the construction sector during the occupational health and safety practices of the construction sector. For this purpose, a random sample was selected and interviews were conducted with occupational safety experts working in the construction industry. Qualitative interview form was used in the study by dividing it into 4 different categories. By conducting content analysis on the data obtained from the interviews, the problems encountered by the occupational safety experts during the occupational health and safety practices in the construction sector were determined. In the conclusion and suggestions section, solutions to the problems encountered by occupational safety experts during occupational health and safety practices in the construction sector are offered.
